WHY JOIN FCE?

There are a couple of important questions to ask yourself when considering FC England and other clubs, both here on the Westside and further afield.

Can you find a higher level team?

Possibly. While the majority of our teams play at Discovery & Flight 1 level, of course it’s possible you may find a slightly higher level team and if that is your sole aim, we wish you good luck.

Can you find a better developmental environment?

Absolutely not. There isn’t a better practice environment (or overall club environment) aside from the two professional clubs in Los Angeles; Galaxy and LAFC. If you are joining one of these clubs, we congratulate you and wish you all the best. If you are not joining either of these professional academies, you won’t find a better developmental environment than here at FC England.

In terms of actual player improvement from Point A (when a player joins the club) to Point B (when a player leaves the club), we are unmatched in the job we do with both on-field soccer development and off-field character development.

Our Unique Practice Environment

All club practice environments are not created equal.

Our practice design, setup and overall environment is unique within LA. This is a bold statement but continues to be proven again and again when new players and parents experience it for the first time. We combine field practices with Futsal open play sessions (a fantastic developmental tool, providing players are given freedom to be creative) and our players thrive because of it.

What sets our practice environment apart is the actual practice design space which is unique. Every area of practice is specifically designed to maximize decision making under pressure in an environment which is  completely game-situational. No drills, no lines, no boring repetition of the same technique; just game-specific situations that ensure the best possible development for every player in our program.

We also work individually with players as part of each practice, something which is only possible for coaches who have both the necessary knowledge and ability to connect with players on a sociopsychological level. We are fortunate to have coaches who are able to do this with precision and professional level expertise.

In the past few years, we have had players come out to practice with us from every level of soccer; from recreational right up to high-level Development Academy players and their reaction to the practice setup and intensity is pretty much universal:

"He loved the practice and I thought it was amazing  in comparison to what we have experienced previously. This is exactly what we have been looking for."

"It's exactly what you said it would be; intense, challenging and game situational."

"I was so impressed with the practice. Seeing how you rotate areas and keep it at such a high pace is very impressive. I haven't seen that in 10 years of club soccer for my kids."

Of course, the only way to find out how accurate these opinions are is to come and check out the practice space first-hand. If you are interested in having your son or daughter tryout, or if you would just like to come and watch a practice, please contact Paul on (310) 403-7166 or email paul@fcengland.com.

RETENTION RATES

At FC England, our retention rate (percentage of players who choose to stay with us each season) is almost 100%.

This is comfortably the highest retention rate on the Westside and likely among the highest retention rates in all of Southern California, not just for soccer clubs but in all youth sports.

In the past couple of years for example, out of almost 150 players, only 2 actually chose to leave. That's less than 2% and this reflects our engagement with parents and commitment to making the experience as good as it can be for every kid we coach.

Tough but Creative Learning Space

We have created a specific type of environment here at FC England; one that is supportive and player-centric but ultimately it is a creative, testing environment that helps players develop, both physically and mentally, on and off the field.

The level of detail we go into with every team and every player is unprecedented, while the intensity of the environment is not for everyone and we completely understand and appreciate that. However, for players who are prepared to work hard, this is among the best environments you will find in Southern California for youth coaching and mentorship.

We have a clear vision for how we can best serve players (and parents) within our organization and we stick to those core beliefs while taking on board other ideas and views to shape the environment as time goes on.

One of the main reasons for establishing FC England was to create a unique competitive learning environment and we believe we have built exactly that.

We are fortunate to have players (and parents) who support what we are doing and the approach we take, even if it seems tough at times. One thing you can always be sure of is that our absolute priority is to do our best for every player that we work with, regardless of whether it is for one month, one year or ten years.

The FC England environment is unique in club soccer. If you'd like to experience it and see the difference first-hand, please contact Paul Spacey to organize a tryout for your son or daughter by calling (310) 403-7166 or email paul@fcengland.com.
